What I like about chrome is the speed and how organized the platform is. I was able to sync it in the blink of an eye. Much to my surprise, I had no idea that chrome had apps available. I immediately found Yabla, which is a Spanish program for which I had paid out of pocket for a few years, and it was free. After exploring the web store, I found myself wanting to play and discover more. I ended up saving Yabla and Simplebooklet to my favorites. I did have to create an account but it only took seconds. It is easy to use and it can be used to share an array of information including videos. It seems to be a great tool to share information with students or to have students publish their work.

Activity 2
Activity # 2
It is important to recognize the influence of the Web 2.0 tools in our daily lives and the need to better serve digital natives in today’s educational institutions. Webs 2.0 provide the students with a synchronous and asynchronous space to collaborate and make sense of their surroundings. Through their interactions with others in their communities and around the world, without the limits of physical boundaries; they are able to acquire skills that will make them adaptable for future tasks. While this applies to students, it is also true for society in general and most importantly for educators who strive to provide the best learning experiences to their students. In light of this, I am posting this YouTube video which I found very thought provoking. Please share your thoughts.
Activity #1
The 7 1/2 Habits
As a lifelong learner and a believer that technology enhances learning, I find myself multitasking more often that I care to admit. While watching TV, for example, it is not uncommon to find myself researching topics that emerge during a show. Some of my best tools, I have encountered while exploring, therefore, the habit that resonate with me the most is habit #7 ½. I am also a problem solver by nature and enjoy troubleshooting and finding solutions habit #3. While these are great strengths, I struggle with beginning the discovery process with an end in mind, habit # 1. I find this difficult because it makes me feel constricted and it is not as enjoyable as exploring new tools and their possibilities. During this course I hope to change old “habits” and acquire new ones along with skills to enhance my students’ learning. As I become more confident and explore the possibility of serving as a mentor habit #4 & 7 I will try to embrace blogging, which is something that gets me out of my comfort zone.
